An open, holistic approach
Shenandoah Urologic Specialists treat all areas of urologic disease in men, women, and children. Many of these health problems involve sensitive subjects that are often difficult for some people to talk about. At SUS, we offer a comfortable venue for patients to openly discuss their physical and sexual health, symptoms, problems, and concerns, without embarrassment. We are confident you will like our holistic approach that takes into account all aspects of your psychological, physical, and social needs and individualizes the diagnosis and treatment processes. Your urologic health is important, call us today to learn more.
We value your time
At Shenandoah Urologic Specialists, we value your time and ask that you value ours in return. Our goal each and every day is to see you precisely when scheduled (or even earlier, when possible). You should never have to wait more than 10 minutes past your scheduled appointment time.
We also value your comfort. If you are asked to arrive at our office with a full bladder, our staff will see that you are given access to our bathroom as soon as you check in (no waiting) so you can provide a urine sample right away.
Preparing for Your First Visit
We start off with a simple 4-step process before your first visit to our office. This process will enable us to start helping you from day one. It also will help us use your time and our time much more efficiently.
Right before you make your first appointment, please have the following information in front of you:
- The reason you would like to see one of our providers
- Your health insurance card
- The name and phone number of your primary care provider and any other doctors you have been seeing (including other urologists)
- Your calendar with the dates and times you are available for an appointment
Before your appointment, our staff will obtain a copy of your medical records from each of your doctors – with your permission.
Click here to see our new-patient packet, which you can print then fill out in ink. If you fill out these forms at home in advance, you will save time in the office and see the doctor faster.
Bring your completed forms to your appointment.
Your First Visit
When you come in for your first office visit, check in at the reception desk and give our receptionist your insurance card and the forms you filled out at home.
One of the nurses will then bring you into a consultation room to review your general medical history, allergies, and medications.
You will then meet with Dr. Geib to discuss your medical concerns and issues and begin the process of diagnosis and treatment. You also may meet with one of our nurse practitioners. The doctor will advise you if any tests (such as blood tests) will be needed to help him diagnose your problem. Also, you will be told if and when you will require further office visits. Be sure to ask all the questions on your mind during your visit – so when the doctor provides treatment options, you will be able to make an informed decision.
After you meet with the doctor, you will “check out” with the receptionist who will discuss the process for additional tests (if needed), help you schedule those tests, and schedule your follow-up appointment. You can count on our staff to guide you through the medical process starting with your first visit. You deserve personalized and caring support.
